The research lines of the Department of Law are developed around topics of great relevance to contemporary society, with an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the legal, economic and social sciences. The main areas of research include:

1) RE.B.I.R.TH. - Referendum in Britain and Italy: Rights, Typologies, History

The RE.B.I.R.TH project (PRA) analyses the relationship between the Rousseauian institutions of direct democracy and the parliamentary system in Italy and the UK, examining whether their historical evolution has an impact on certain social and institutional transformations, such as the effects on democratic-electoral participation; scepticism about scientific information and disinformation; party-political polarisation-radicalisation on global issues (migration, borders, EU).

The DAL.MA project illustrates an experimental research pathway that fosters the advancement of scientific knowledge, with specific regard to the strategic analysis of data and information, as well as to the intelligence activities in the international geopolitical context. Throughout a managerial and legal approach, the aim of the research is to underline the role of data governance, so to preserve the condition of security of private companies and government stakeholders.

The G.E.A. project aims at examining, from a historical-legal and constitutionalist perspective, the contribution made by women to the formulation of the Constitution. Furthermore, it aims at interpreting, through the examination of the most recent legislative measures and Constitutional Court rulings, the legal motives of the ongoing evolution in the field of gender equity, so to identify what legal scenarios can be envisaged in Italy and in in other European contexts.
